A younger sister, Ann (6 years younger) and two younger twins, Lewis E. and Sarah E. that were a decade younger than Ester. Ester's mothr, Mary Anne passed away when Ester was only 12 years old. Ester (Nellie) married William H. Valentine on November 6, 1868 in Logan, Ohio, at the age of 22. They had five children, one of whom (William) passed away at 2-1/2 weeks of age. Their four other children are Mary, Charles, Ammie and Elmer. Esther passed away from pneumonia in 1880 just two months after giving birth to Elmer, at the age of 32.
