Born Dec. 12, 1913, in Kylertown, he was a son of Clyde and Bertha (Lucas) Welch.
Mr. Welch retired as a heavy equipment operator from R.S. Carlin, Snow Shoe, in 1975.
He was affiliated with the Protestant faith.
Mr. Welch is survived by four sisters, Eva Lindsey of Clearfield, Theona Derbeque of York Haven, PA , Edith Weld Mihalko of Wallaceton and Edna Best of Elmira, N.Y. and a number of Neices, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wives Elvina Gross Welch and Martha Askey Welch; his companion, Lena K. McGonigal; three sisters, Mary McFaye, Bertha Collar and Gladys Martell; an infant brother, Elmer and four brothers, Carl, Floyd, Haskell and Herbert Welch.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2004 at Johnson Funeral Home, Grassflat, with the Rev. H. Lee Hebel officiating.
Interment will be at Oak Hill Memorial Cemetery, Karthaus.
Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 p.m. until the hour of services Wednesday, April 21, 2004 at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Sheperd of the Hills Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 65, Karthaus, PA 16845; or Pine Glen Methodist Church, Pine Glen Road, Karthaus, PA 16845
