Raymond Kenneth Hardy of Allenport died unexpectedly at this home yesterday shortly after he became ill, while at work. He passed away at 10:40 a.m., Thursday, September 19, 1957. Mr. Hardy had reported for work at the Harbison-Walker Refractories Company plant at Mount Union but became ill and returned home at 8 a.m.He was born October 21, 1915, at Allenport, a son of William and Annie Hardy. He was married to Grace Booher of Allenport on July 10, 1937, at the St. Paul’s Methodist Church, Hagerstown.Mr. Hardy is survived by his wife, his mother, Mrs. Annie Hardy Ripple, and two daughters, Patricia Lee and Linda Ellen Hardy, living at home. One son preceded him in death. Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Fred Beatty, Kistler; Mrs. John Price, Huntingdon; Mrs. Charles McCall, Huntingdon; Mrs. Paul Watkins, Saltillo; Mrs. Fred Chuckeck, Clearfield; Charles and Fred Hardy, Mount Union and James and Clyde Hardy, Allenport. One brother preceded him in death.He attended the Allenport Methodist Church and Sunday school. He had been employed at the Harbison-Walker Refractories since 1933.Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 22, at 4 p.m. from the Clark funeral home, Mount Union. The Rev. Frank Crawford will officiate. Interment will be made in the IOOF Cemetery.
