Walter E. Klahold a great Welder
HELLAM, PA - Walter Eugene Klahold, "Walt" Age 67, of Hellam Township, died at 6 a.m. Saturday at his home. He was the husband of Vonny Annett (Hunt) Klahold. The couple observed their 34th wedding anniversary Nov. 28.
The service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Etzweiler Funeral Home Inc., 1111 E. Market St., York, PA. Burial will be in Canadochly Cemetery with flag presentation by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Viewings will be 7 to 9 pm. Tuesday and 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Klahold was born Feb. 8, 1932, in York, PA. He was the son of Katherine R. (Carlson) Klahold of York, PA, and the late Gerhart C. Klahold Sr.
He was a self-employed welder and farmer. He also worked for Yorktowne Paper Mills and York Shipley Inc. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in Germany during the Korean War.
Mr. Klahold was survived by six sons, Scott Allan Hunt, James Walter Klahold, Andrew Lee Klahold, Eugene Gerhart Klahold, and Richard Allen Klahold, all of York, PA, and David Franklin Klahold of Gig Harbor, Wash.; three daughters, Karen Katherine Klahold of York, PA, Dawn Marie Klahold Koletar of Reading, PA, and Iris Annett Morris of Brogue, PA; 11 grandchildren; four brothers, Lester Klahold Sr. of Ephrata, PA, David Klahold and J. Kenneth Klahold, both of York, PA, and Phillip Klahold Sr. of Bethel, PA; and a sister, Flo Siegfried of York, PA.
Officiating at the service will be the Rev. John F. Harmon, pastor of Windsor Assembly of God.
