James Kenneth Klahold, 78, of Hellam Twp, York, PA: died on April 10, 2015 at Pleasant Acres Nursing and Rehab Center in York, PA. He was the husband of Alma F. (Cunningham) Klahold, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage. Born on November 11, 1936 in Hellam Twp,York County, PA. he was the son of the late Gerhart Carl Klahold, Sr. and the late Katharine Rebecca (Carlson) Klahold.

He was a 1954 graduate of Kreutz Creek Valley High School, Kenneth retired from Transply Inc. in inside sales.

He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and the Kreutz Creek Valley VFW Post 2045.

In addition to his wife he is survived by six children Randall Klahold and his wife Jonda of York, PA. Jeffrey Klahold of York, PA. Barbara Ross and her husband Bryan of York, PA. Jonathan Klahold and his partner Connee Hempt of York, PA. Duane Klahold and his wife Denise of York, PA. Douglas Klahold and his wife Stephanie of Santa Clara, CA; ten grandchildren, four great grandchildren, two brothers David Klahold of York,PA and Philip L. Klahold of Reading, PA. He was preceded in death by four brothers Gerhart Carl Klahold, Jr., Frederick Klahold, Walter Eugene Klahold and Lester Klahold and a sister Flo Siegfried.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday April 14, 2015 at 11:00 am at St. John Lutheran Church, 2580 Mount Rose Avenue, York with Rev. Tab E. Cosgrove officiating. Viewings will be held Monday April 13, 2015 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service 1111 East Market Street, York and Tuesday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the church. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assoc. of South Central PA, 3544 N. Progress Ave. Harrisburg, PA 17110 or to St. John Lutheran Church 2580 Mount Rose Avenue York, PA 17402.

The family wishes to express their deepest thanks for the care provided to Kenneth and his family by the staff at Pleasant Acres Nursing and Rehab Center.
