David A. Klahold, 82, died on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Manor Care, Dallastown. He was the husband of Doris L. (Sechrist) Klahold, sharing 60 years together.

David was born in York County on August 4, 1934 and was a son of the late Gerhart C. and atherine R. Klahold.

David served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from Chesapeake Fiber as a Corrugating Superintendent. He was also previously employed by Cor-Box, Inc. and Penn State Container. Following retirement, David enjoyed woodworking and restoring his 1931 Model A Ford.

In addition to his wife, Doris, David is survived by two daughters, Karla Martin and her husband, Joseph and Deborah Myers, both of York; a son, Kevin Klahold and his wife, Pamela of York; eight grandchildren, Joseph Martin, Lauren Fritz and her husband, Jeremy, Shane Martin, Kaitlyn Myers, Krista Klahold, Brooke Wentzel and her husband, Josh, Kevin Meck, and Kayli Drawbaugh and her husband, Jeremy; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Philip Klahold of Reading. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Gerhart, Frederick, Walter, Lester, and Kenneth Klahold; and a sister, Flo Siegfried.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 1111 E. Market St., York, with Pastor Steven Almquist officiating. There will be a viewing on Monday, October 10, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service on Tuesday at Mount Rose Cemetery.
