Gerhart Carl Klahold Jr. Reading Paper Board retiree
WEST LAWN, PA - Gerhart C. "Sonny" Klahold Jr., Age 71, of 2315 Bressler Drive, West Lawn, PA died at 12:25 p.m. Friday at his home after a long illness. He was the husband of Marion Mae (Blessing) Klahold.
The service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., 739 Penn Ave. West, Reading, PA. Burial will be in Canadochly Cemetery in York, PA. Viewing will be 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Klahold was born in York, PA. He was the son of Katherine R. (Carlson) Klahold of York, PA, and the late Gerhart C. Klahold Sr.
He worked at Reading Paper Board in Sinking Spring, PA, retiring July 1, 1993. Prior to that he was superintendent at Federal Paper Board in Sinking Spring, PA. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Wyomissing, PA. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a 1946 graduate of Hallam High School in Hellam, PA.
Mr. Klahold also is survived by a son, Kim L. Klahold of Bernville, PA; two daughters, Angela S. (Klahold) Trauger of Stoudsburg, PA and Melissa A. (Klahold) Graeff of Wyomissing, PA; three grandchildren; five brothers, Walter E. Klahold, David Klahold and J. Kenneth Klahold, all of York, PA, Lester Klahold of Ephrata, PA and Philip Klahold of Strausstown,PA; and a sister, Flo (Klahold) Seigfried of York, PA.
