Daughter of John Palivec and Anna Trcka.

Mary Palivec was born on July 22, 1889 in Drahlín, Austria-Hungary (Bohemia), now Czech Republic. She came to U.S. on November 4, 1904 at age 15. She was the first in her family to make the trip. She lived at 2038 E. 70th St. and worked as a domestic before her wedding.

Mary married Jaroslav Mrazek on Nov 14, 1907, at age 18. Her husband worked as an assistant brewer. They had a son, James, born in Feb 1909.

Listed in 1910 Census, age 21, at 3437 E. 69th St, Cleveland, OH, with husband Jerry, 24, and son James, 14 months. Jerry and Mary born in Bohemia, and James born in Ohio. Married two years. Jerry immigrated in 1904 (naturalization application pending), and Mary immigrated in 1905. Jerry worked as a brewer in a brewery.

Mary became a widow after only four years of marriage when her husband, Jerry, fractured his skull in an accidental fall into a truck. He died at age 26 on Dec 13, 1911.

Mary married Frank Hlavin on Apr 16, 1913. Mary lived at 5108 Anson Ave, Cleveland, OH, at age 24, before her marriage to Frank.

Listed in 1920 Census, Cuyahoga County, Cleveland, OH, age 30, with husband, Frank, 35, tailor shop cutter, born in Ohio, and son James, 10. Lived at 3559 E. 106th St.. She immigrated 1905, naturalized 1913.

Listed in 1940 Census, Cuyahoga County, Cleveland, OH, age 50, at 3559 E. 106th St, Cleveland, OH, with husband Frank, 56, clothing cutter. Lived in the same house in 1935.

Mary died on Mar 22, 1970, of terminal pneumonia, at age 80. She was buried on Mar 25, 1970 in Section 13, Lot 358, Tier N2/3, Grave 2, in Highland Park Cemetery, Highland Hills, Cuyahoga County, OH. Cemetery records incorrectly show her age as 70. Lived in Maple Heights, OH.
