Regina Palivec was born Jul 24, 1908 in Drahlín, Austria-Hungary, now Czech Republic. On Mar 20, 1913, she departed Bremen, Germany for the USA on the ship Chemnitz, a part of the North German Lloyd Line. She travelled in 2nd Cabin accomodations. Regina arrived in Philadelphia with her parents and 7 siblings on April 4, 1913 at the age of 4.

Listed in 1920 Census, Cuyahoga County, Cleveland, OH, age 11, as Virginia, with her father, John, age 49, foundry watchman, with her mother, Anna, 49, her brothers Frank, 18, sewing machine clerk, Joseph, 16, department store stockboy, and sisters, Bertha, 9, and Mildred, 8. All immigrated 1913. Lived at 12906 Union Avenue. Also living there was her widowed sister, Toney (Antonie) Yaminik, 29 (27), and Toney's son Charley Hantl, 4, as well as another sister Anna Wojnarowski, 23 (21), immigrated 1908, her husband Tom, 34, Polish, machinist, immigrated 1892, and their daughter Anna, 9 months.

At age 35, she married William Pelsnik on Apr 17, 1928.
