Arthur Holderbaum, 57, died at his home here at 4:30 pm last Thursday following a brief illness. Death was due to a heart attack.
He was born in Wakarusa, June 20, 1890, the son of Solomon and Catherine (Ritchie) Holderbaum, and spent most of his life in the vicinity.
Survivors include the widow, Gertrude; 9 children, Glen of Laporte, Milo of Goshen, Mrs Ivan (Fern) Tavernier of Porter, Ind, Mrs William (Bonnie) Smith of Goshen, Mrs Bernard (Majorie) Lebold, and Mrs Mervin (Ruby) Etsinger, both of Wakarusa, and Edna Wilma and Norma Jean, at home; 2 sisters, Mrs Mela Weaver of Elkhart and Mrs Laura Large of Niles, Mich, 2 brothers, Walter of Edwardsburg, Mich, and Harley of the Hawaiian Islands; and 8 grandchildren.
Friends called at the family home until the hour of the service which was held at 2 pm. Saturday at the residence and 2:30 at the Brethren church, in charge of the Rev Samuel Longenecker. Burial in Olive cemetery.
