LaPORTE - Glen L. Holderbaum, 59, of 129 Maple Dr., died at 3:30 a.m. Monday in E St. Division, LaPorte Hospital where he had been a patient for two weeks after suffering a heart attack. He had been ill for three weeks. He was born Aug 8, 1910, to Arthur and Edith (Cripe) Holderbaum, in Olive township, Wakarusa, and had lived in LaPorte for 25 years, coming from Goshen.
He was the owner of Holderbaum Auto Service in LaPorte. He was a member of the LaPorte Lions club, Moose Lodge, Camera club and FOP. On Nov 11, 1929, in Goshen, he married Mamie Miller, who survives.
Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Edward [Flora Jane] Ahlgrim Jr. and Mrs. Robert [Mary Edith] Tarnow, both of LaPorte, Mrs. Robert [Nellie] Zinkel of Chicago and Mrs. Harold [Janet] Matteson Jr. of Madison, Wis,; seven grandchildren; his stepmother, Mrs. Harvey Blosser of Wakarusa, seven sisters, Mrs. Ivan (Fern) Tavernier of Porter, Mrs. William C.L. (Edna) Wilhelm and Mrs. William (Bonnie) Smith, both of Goshen, Mrs. Frank (Marjorie) Ogar of Elkhart, Mrs. Mervin (Ruby) Etsinger of New Paris, Mrs. Charles (Wilma) Wenger of South Bend, and Mrs. Everett (Jean) Whitehead Jr. of Nappanee, and a brother Milo of Union, Mich.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte, with Rev. Robert Burgbacher and Rev. John Cameron officiating. Burial will be in Pine Lake Cemetery. Friends may call until services in the funeral home.
