Catherine Holderbaum (Nee-Ritschee) was born in Marshall County, Ind., Sept. 13, 1861 and died at Wakarusa, Ind., Aug. 9, 1920 aged 58 years, 10 months and 26 days. She was united in marriage to Solomon Holderbaum Dec. 2, 1880, to this union were born 14 children. Two sons, two daughters and two grandchildren preceded her to the spirit world. She united with the Church of the Brethren about 38 years ago and remained faithful to the end. There remains to mourn her loss a husband and ten children. Emeda Weaver, Arthur and Elmer of Wakarusa, Laura Large of Shipshewana, Walter on his way to California, Bertha Kiefer of Nappanee, Minnie Leinbach of Kingman Alberta Canada, Ervin of Mishawaka, Hattie Netter of New Mexico, Harley in Hawaiian Islands. She also leaves 20 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild and 4 brothers and a host of relatives and friends.
Services conducted by Elders Frank Kreider and H. M. Schwalm.
Some day the silver cord will break, and I no more as now shall sing. But Oh the joy when I awake, within the palace of the King. And I shall see him face to face and tell the story saved by grace.
