MARY CELESTE ABELL, 81, of Lebanon, died at 5:55 pm, Feb. 1 at Mary Immaculate Hospital. Mrs. Abell was a member of the St. Augustine Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Edward Abell and her parents, Martin and Justine Green Mattingly. Survivors include: four sons, Leo of Lebanon, Alvin, Bert and J.B. Abell of Louisville; five daughters, Mrs. Louise Thomas and Mrs. Clara Hutchins of Loretto, Mrs. Teresa Mattingly of Lebanon, Mrs. Thelma Haggard of Liberty and Mrs. Helen Osbourne of Springfield; one sister, Sadie Wheatley of Akron, Ohio; three half-sisters, Mrs. Justine Evert, Mrs. Nettie Theboult and Mrs. Nora Thebault of Hammond, Ind. Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Feb. 4 at St. Augustine Catholic Church with burial in St. Charles Cemetery. Rev. Father Cousens officiated. Pallbearers were Gary Abell, Mike Mattingly, Joe Sidney Blandford, Steve Osbourne, James Haggard, and Kevin Mattingly. Bosley Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
