THOMAS LEO ABELL, 68, Lebanon, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010, at Spring View Hospital, Lebanon. Born in Lebanon Aug. 31, 1941, Mr. Abell was a farmer and retired employee of A.T.R. Wire and Cable Co. in Danville. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Lebanon and the Knights of Columbus Counsel #1264. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Joseph Edward and Mary Celeste Mattingly Abell; a sister, Louise Thomas; and three brothers, Alvin, Bert and J.B. Abell. Survivors include: his wife of 41 years and seven months, Alice Faye Isaacs Abell of Lebanon; a daughter, Sandra Abell Gribbins of Lebanon; two sons, Thomas Scott (Mary-Susan) Abell, Louisville, and Stephen Paul (Jill) Abell, Lebanon; four sisters, Teresa Mattingly, Springfield, Clara Hutchins, Loretto, Helen Osborne, Springfield, and Thelma Haggard, Liberty; and seven grandchildren, Anne Kaitlyn Gribbins, Madeline Abell, Lilly Abell, Thomas Abell, Sarah Abell, Michael Abell and Daniel Abell. The funeral Mass was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Father Pablo Hernandez officiated and Deacon Joe Dant assisted. Active pallbearers were Mike Mattingly, Paul Osborne, Eddie Brussell, Bill Kelty, Jimmy Caldwell, Gary Poynter and Ron Hamilton. Bosley Funeral Home, Lebanon, was in charge of arrangements.
