"MARY LOUISE THOMAS, 69, Loretto, died at 8:35 P.M., Feb. 28, 1992, at Norton Hospital in Louisville. Thomas was born July 27, 1922 in Marion County and was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. She was a retired employee of Maker's Mark Distillery in Loretto, a member of Monsignor Gettelfinger Council 1264 Knights of Columbus Auxiliary in Lebanon and a member of Crazy Quilters Club in Bardstown. She was also a member of the West Marion County Senior Citizens Club. She was preceded in death by: her first husband, Sidney Johnson Blandford on April 15, 1973; two infant children, Nancy Marie Blandford in 1959 and John Wright Blandford on March 13, 1961; and one son, Gerald Kenneth Blandford on Oct. 1, 1973. Survivors include: her husband, Joseph C. Thomas of Loretto; five daughters, Mrs. Charles "Mary Ann" Portman, Mrs. Mickey "Frances Elaine" Jarboe, Mrs. Jimmy "Theresa Susan" Jarboe and Mrs. David "Martha Louise" Luckett of Louisville and Mrs. Jerome "Janice Clara" Fischer of Tecumseh, Mich.; two sons, Joseph Sidney Blandford of Lebanon and Freddie C. Blandford of Shepherdsville; four sisters, Mrs. Howard "Thelma" Haggard of Liberty, Mrs. Edgar "Teresa" Mattingly of Lebanon; Mrs. Jimmy "Clara" Hutchins of Loretto and Mrs. Johnny "Helen" Osborne of Springfield; two brothers, James Edward "J.B." Abell of Louisville and Thomas Leo Abell of Lebanon; 20 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 11 A.M., March 2, 1992 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church with burial in the St. Charles Catholic Church Cemetery. Rev. Clarence J. Schwartz and Rev. Ernest Schumacher concelebrated the Funeral Mass. Pallbearers were grandsons, Charles Portman, John Blandford, Robbie Ewing, Rusty Jarboe, Greg Jarboe and Mitchell Luckett. Prayer services were held at 7 P.M., March 1, 1992 at Mattingly Funeral Home, Loretto, which was in charge of the arrangements."
