She was born March 11, 1914, in Catharine to Frank and Catherine (Schukman) Ubert. She married Raymond Ross Aug. 29, 1933, in Hyacinth. He preceded her in death March 4, 1993.
She worked in the meat department at Safeway for 19 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Altar Society Christian Mothers, both of Hays.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Virginia Lee "Ginger" Pfeifer of Hill City; three brothers, Robert Ubert of Hays, Victor Ubert of Kansas City and Wilfred Ubert of Arvada, Colo.; two sisters, Sally Molleker and Lillian Staab, both of Hays; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by four brothers, Alphonse Ubert, William Ubert, Francis Ubert and Walter Ubert; and two sisters, Ida Goetz and Hilda Jacques.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Mike Scully officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Hays.
Altar Society Christian Mothers rosary will be 4 p.m. and a parish vigil service at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials have been established with Hays Good Samaritan Center or St. Joseph Catholic Church in care of the funeral home.
