Ida Goetz, 89, homemaker, died Thursday, April 4, 1996 at St. John Rest Home, Victoria.

She was born Nov. 4, 1906 in Catherine to Frank and Catherine (Schuckman) Ubert.

She married Simon Goetz Sept. 22, 1931 in Hyacinth. He died Feb. 21, 1982.

She was a homemaker and longtime resident of the Victoria area. She moved to St. John’s Rest Home in Victoria five years ago. She was a member of St. Fidelis Catholic Church, the Daughters of Isabella, the Christian Mothers and Secular Franciscan Order, all of Victoria.

Survivors include two sons, Ron of Victoria and Frank of Denver; five daughters, Berniece Bushman of Danville, Calif., Norma Huffman of Phoenix, Verda Werner of Victoria, Alma Myers of Olathe, and Sharon Merrick of Oviedo, Fla.; five brothers, William Ubert of Plainville, Robert Ubert, Walter Ubert, both of Hays, Victor Ubert of Kansas City, Wilfred of Aurora, Colo.; three sisters, Ella Ross, Sally Molleker and Lillian Staab, all of Hays; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Al Ubert and Francis Ubert, and one sister, Hilda Jacques.

Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria, with Father Frank X. Grinko officiating; burial in St. Fidelis Cemetery [other funeral service details omitted]. The family suggests memorials to the St. Fidelis Church Painting Fund or St. John's Rest Home.
