Alphonse J. "Al" Albert
HAYS - Alphonse J. "Al" Ubert, 79, died Feb. 20, 1987 at St. Anthony's Hospital, Hays. Born Nov. 8, 1907, at Catharine, he married Emma Brungardt Sept. 2, 1935 at Victoria. He was a retired farmer and a lifetime resident of Ellis County. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council 1325, both of Hays.
Survivors: wife, of the home; sons, Darrell, Wichita, Jerel , Hays, daughter, Carol Koerner, Hays; brothers, William, Plainville, Victor, Kansas City, Kan., Wilfred, Arvada, Colo., Walter and Robert, both of Hays; sisters, Ida Goetz, Victoria, Sally Mollikor, Lillian Staab and Ella Ross, all of Hays, and nine grandsons.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays, Father Michael Sculley. Daughters of Isabella rosary will be at 4 p.m. Sunday. Parish rosary at 8 p.m. Sunday and Knights of Columbus rosary at 8:15 p.m. Sunday, all at Hays Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays. Friends may call from 7 t o 9 p.m. today and from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the chapel. Memorials may go to the Hospice of the Plains or to the Cancer Council of Ellis County, both of Hays.
