August Courtad Dies Wednesday
Services 9 A.M. Saturday From St. Peter's Catholic Church
August John Courtad, 92, died at 12:10 a.m. Wednesday in his home at 235 North
Fourth Street here. He had been ill the past 2 years.
Born March 9, 1866 in Wyandot Co., he was the son of Peter and Clementine
(Zircher) Courtad. He was married May 27, 1886 in Upper Sandusky to the former
Emmaline Von Blon, who died Sept. 28, 1941.
Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Barney (Effie) Everett, Sturgis, Michigan;
Mrs. Harrison (Lottie) Feeley, Upper Sandusky; Mrs. John (Bernice) Swinehart,
east of Upper Sandusky; Mrs. Arthur (Bessie) Burks, of Shelby; Mrs. Lewis
(Hilda) Hertzel, south of Upper Sandusky; and Mrs. Curtis (Gladys) Brown, east
of Upper Sandusky; three sons, Floyd R. Courtad, Upper Sandusky; W. Adrian
Courtad, east of Upper Sandusky, and Claude A. Courtad, Tiffin, 27
grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Mr.
Courtad was the last of a family of 13 children. One son died in infancy.

Mr. Courtad was a retired farmer and a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church
here and the Holy Name Society of the Church. He was a life time resident of
Wyandot Co.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. from St. Peter's Catholic
church with the pastor, Rev. William B. Sossong, officiating. Interment will be
in Old Mission Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Bringman & Co. Funeral Home Friday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m.
The Rosary will be prayed at the funeral home Friday at 7:30 p.m.
