Ruth A. Bieritz, of Downers Grove, IL, formerly of Yorkville, IL, died at Pleasantview Nursing Home in Ottawa, IL. She was born in rural Kendall Township, Kendall County, the daughter of Herman and Minnie (Freise) Bieritz, Sr.

Miss Bieritz was a 1926 graduate of Yorkville High School. Ruth was formerly employed as an operator for Illinois Bell in Yorkville until 1939, when the phone company went to the dial sysetm. She then became a long-distance operator in Oak Park, IL, until her retirement. Ruth wa a member of the Telephone Pioneers. Miss Bieritz was a lifelong member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Yorkville. She had been active in various church organizations and enjoyed volunteering her sewing abilities.

Survivors included her three brothers: Erick Bieritz of Yorkville, Herman Bieritz of Ottawa, and Walter (Elorn) Bieritz of Yorkville; one sister, Irene, who resided at Pleasantview Nursing Home, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: George, Gerhardt, and Reuben; four sisters: Evelyn Hardecopf, Rhoda Bieritz, Anna Sullivan, and Esther Bieritz.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 31, 1995, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Yorkville, with Pastor John Leaf officiating.

Visitation was held Monday, January 30th at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 410 E. Countryside Parkway, Yorkville.
