He was united in marriage on May 2, 1931, to Alma Moenkemeier at Immanuel Lutheran Church, where he was a lifelong member. Mr. Bieritz farmed in Kendall County. After his retirement, he was able to pursue his love for refinishing furniture. He was a member of the Kendall County Farm Bureau and belonged to the Brotherhood of the church.
He was survived by his wife, Alma, of Yorkville; one son, Dr. Wesley G. Bieritz of Danville, IL; and one daughter, Carolyn (Joseph) Leshyn of Evergreen Park, IL; four grandchildren, Bradley Leshyn of Woodbridge, IL; Susan (John) Mieras of Chicago, Lynn Ann (Scott) LaSalle of LaSalle, IL, and Jeannie Bieritz of Urbana, IL; three brothers, Erick of Yorkville, Herman of Ottawa, IL, and Walter (Elorn) of Yorkville; two sisters, Irene Bieritz and Ruth Bieritz of Downers Grove, IL; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Bieritz.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Reuben, and one infant brother, George; sisters, Evelyn Hardecopf, Rhoda Bieritz, Anna Sullivan, and Esther Bieritz; and daughter-in-law, Laurel Bieritz.
Visitation was Sunday, November 22, 1992, at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 410 E. Countryside Parkway, Yorkville. Funeral services were held Monday, November 23 from the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Yorkville with Pastor John M. Leaf officiating. Sadie Devick was the organist. Serving as pallbearers were Raymond Merkel, Forrest Merkel, Don Mulvey, John Bieritz, Lyle Hardecopf, and William Hardecopf.
