Funeral services for Ben Larson were conducted from the Carlson Funeral Home on Thursday, Jan. 6, at 1:30 o'clock with Rev. Harold Elvert officiating. The pall bearers were Ray Lakeman, Joe Swagger, Russell Oney, John Zellmer, Larry Wilhelm and Lawrence Larson. Internment was made in Hillside cemetery, Minneapolis.
Ben Larson was born in Colman, South Dakota on August 17, 1883, the son of Jens and Gertrude Larson. He grew to manhood on a farm in Moody County, S. Dak. He was baptized and confirmed in the Midway Lutheran church, Flandreau, S. Dak. By Rev. Blillie. On August 28, 1920 he was united in marriage to Esther Oney at Sioux Falls, S. Dak. They resided on a farm in Moody County until 1932 when they moved to a farm at Fergus Falls, Minn. In 1950 they moved to Minneapolis. In April 1960 they bought a home in Cambridge, and have spent these years living in Cambridge and Minneapolis.
Mr. Larson passed away at the Cambridge Nursing home on Sunday, Jan. 2, at the age of 82. He is survived by his wife, Esther, two brothers, Alfred of Cambridge, and Carl of Colman, S. Dak., a nephew, Lawrence Larson, St Cloud, nieces, Mrs., Ben Stomper (Marjorie), Milwaukee, Wisc. Mrs. Joe Swagger (Elaine), and Mrs. Ray Lakeman (Helen), both of Minneapolis, other nieces and nephews and a host of friends. HE was preceded in death, by two brothers and two sisters.
