Obituary: (Old Pioneer Dies):
Jens Larson, an old time Moody county pioneer who has made his home in Brookings the past few years, passed away at the hospital in Minneapolis last week. He had gone there for an operation for cancer and after the operation, pneumonia developed and he only survived three days.

The funeral was held from the Lutheran church in Brookings on Thursday at 1 o'clock and was largely attended. Several from here went over to the funeral among these being the K. G. Bidne family who are related to the Larson Family.

A widow and several children are left to mourn a good husband and father. Most of the family still reside in the north end of this country.

JENS LARSON DIES IN MINNEAPOLIS MONDAY

Jens Larson, age 74 years, died at a hospital in Minneapolis Monday night. Mr. Larson went to Minneapolis about ten days ago to undergo an operation for a cancerous growth on his face. Shortly after the operation he contracted bronchial pneumonia and died within a short
time.

Funeral services will be held from the Lutheran church Friday afternoon the Rev. Aasten of Colman and the Rev. J. H. Blilie of Flandreau officiating. Interment will be made in the Lutheran cemetery.

The deceased was born in Hadeland, Norway. He came to South Dakota in 1878 and took up a homestead in Moody county where he resided for 42 years. He retired and moved to this city four years ago.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife and seven children, Mrs. Anna Kragness and Lewis of Douglas, North Dakota, Henry I. of Bend, South Dakota, and Mrs. Dena Doyle, Carl, Alfred and Ben of Flandreau.
