Obituary:
Funeral services were held at the Skroch Funeral Chapel for Carl J. Larson, 79, who died at the Flandreau Hospital Thursday, August 17, having been in failing health for about two years. Rev. Arvid Harklau of Colman officiated and interment was in Midway Lutheran Cemetery.

Carl J. Larson, son of James and Gertrude Larson, was born October 24, 1888 in Fremont Township, Moody County. He was educated in rural Moody County Schools and farmed with his father until 1911 when he moved to Perkins County, where he took a homestead. He lived there for three years and then returned to Moody County to farm in Fremont Township, with the exception of two years spent in Brookings. He was never married.

He was a member of the Lutheran church and the Odd Fellow Lodge in Colman.

He is survived by one brother, Alfred Larson, Princeton, Minn., and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.

Pallbearers were Ernest Doyle, Dave Doyle, Albin Erickson, Vernon Doyle, Glen Doyle and Joseph Swagger.
