He was married twice,his first marriage ending in divorce.He later remarried to Elizabeth Luttrell on 23 December 1935.There were no children from either marriage.
In earlier days,he owned a cigar store in Chester,Pa. He was best known as a Criminologist and Fingerprint expert for the Chester Police Department where he worked for ten years.He then took over the identification office for the county.He was rated at the top of his profession by the Justice Department.He mentored his nephew, Ferris Dunlap,for his position at the Chester Police Department.
He was a very likeable guy according to family and friends.He died at Riddle Memorial Hospital on 23 February 1971.
He was buried in the Dunlap Family plot at Middletown Presbyterian Cemetery,Elwyn,Pa.Interred with him are his parents, a brother, Truman and the ashes of his wife Elizabeth, who died in 1993.
