Married Rowan White on 9 Apr 1846 at Red House in Allegany County (now Garrett), Maryland. (NOTE: The family Bible of Margaret (Waltz) White s parents, William Waltz and Mary Hauser Waltz, records the marriage date as 16 Apr 1946. However, the Maryland, U.S., Compiled Marriages, 1667-1899, lists the marriage date as 9 Apr 1846.)

Mrs. Margaret White died at her home in Oakland on Sunday, August 3, after a long illness. On the day preceding her death she suffered a stroke of paralysis. She was buried in the Oakland cemetery Tuesday afternoon after services conducted in the M. E. church by Rev. J. B. Workman.

Mrs. White was 80 years of age the day before her death. She was the widow of Rowan White, who died in April 1904. They were married at Red House in April 1846, and the union was blessed by ten children. Thomas R. Died at Piedmont last June. The other children are John A., James W., Charles, Misses Sarah and Bertha, Mrs. Delia Slabaugh, all of Oakland, Perry of Davis, and Mrs. Jennie White, of Kingwood.
