White Services Will Be Held in Oakland Today
Charles Edgar White Dies After a Long Illness
OAKLAND, August 24 – Funeral services were held today for Charles Edgar White, 77, who died early Saturday morning at his home on Oak Street. He had been in failing health for sometime, but his death was not expected. He had been a patient for a day in a Cumberland hospital about two months ago but had returned to his home here.
Mr. White was the son of the late Rowan and Margaret White, Oakland, and was born July 23, 1865. He married Theresa Helbig who died twenty-one years ago. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society.
Surviving are two sisters and one brother, Mrs. Delia Slabaugh, Akron, O; Miss Bert White and George D White, Oakland.
Services tomorrow morning will be from the Catholic church with the Rev. John C. Broderick, pastor, officiating. Internment will be in the Catholic cemetery. Pallbearers will be Wendell Turney, Russell Brown, Francis R. Shaffer, Frederick Thayer, Leo Helbig, and J. Edward Helbig. (Source: . (Transcription by Ronn E. Friend)
