Dick Vander Berg, 91, of Sioux Center died Thursday, October 29, at the Sioux Center hospital.
Services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 2, at First Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center with the Rev. Wayne Kobes officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Sioux Center.
Vander Berg was born November 30, 1900, at Le Mars, son of Epke and Sentina (Van Daalfsen) Vander Berg.
He married Nelvia Van Kley October 28, 1927. in Sioux Center.
He owned and operated the Vander Berg Elevator and later the Siouxland Exchange.
He was a member of First Christian Reformed Church, where he served as an elder and deacon.
Survivors include his wife; two sons and their wives. Milton and Marlene of Holland, Michigan, and Eldon and Wilma of Sioux Center; a daughter, Karen Vande Berg of Sioux Center; a sister. Elsie Dykstra of Trosky, Minnesota; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, John E., Douwe E., and Edward, and four sisters, Tina Vander Berg, Etta Aue, Bess Critters and Ida Baartman.
