Funeral Wednesday For John E. Vander Berg
Funeral services were held at Central Reformed church here at 2 p, m. Wednesday, September 18, for John E. Vander Berg, 74, retired Sioux Center businessman and longtime resident of the-city, who died at the Sioux Center hospital Monday after suffering a heart attack.
Services were conducted by the Rev. Albert Ten Clay and burial was made in the Sioux Center Community cemetery under the direction of Vander Ploeg's Funeral home,
Mr. Vander Berg was born February 28, 1894, at LeMars. He was married to Bertha Prins in Sioux Center on June 4, 1917.
Survivors include his widow; three sons, Dr. James of Clarion, Iowa, Dr. Elmer of Sheldon and David of Sioux Center; a daughter, Mrs. Adrian (Ruth) Korver of Sheldon; three sisters, Mrs. Fred Aue and Mrs. John Gritters, both of Sioux Center, and Mrs. Dan Dykstra of Trosky,
Minn.; two brothers, Dick E., Sioux Center, and Dr. Edward, of Holland, Mich.; and 12 grandchildren.
