Milton Vander Berg, age 84, of Holland, died Thursday, April 27, 2017 at his home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Nelvia Vander Berg; children, Cheryl Fuder and Timothy Vander Berg; sister, Karen Vander Berg, and in-laws, Sharon and Lon Laackmann.

Milt was born in Hull, Iowa to Dick and Nelvia Vander Berg. He taught English and Speech at Pella Christian High in Pella, Iowa; Western Christian High in Hull, Iowa; and West Michigan Christian High in Muskegon, Michigan. He retired from Haworth following 10 years of employment.

He was a member of Central Avenue Christian Reformed Church.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marlene; children, Brenda Vander Berg of Holland, Mark Vander Berg of Zeeland; son-in-law, Brian Fuder of Holland; 4 grandchildren, Jennifer and Jay Udell, Jonathan and Jenny Fuder, Bethany Vander Berg, Tyler Vander Berg, Felicia Vander Berg; 4 great grandchildren, Grace Udell, Leonard Udell, Carsten Udell, Eric Udell; brother, Eldon and Wilma Vander Berg of Sioux Center, IA; in-laws, Phyllis and Gene Laninga of Holland, Lee and Lois Vander Bok of Hamilton; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 1, 2017 at Central Avenue Christian Reformed Church, 259 Central Ave. Holland with Revs. Chad Steenwyk and James H. Scholten officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Sunday, April 30, at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th St. Holland. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association or Central Ave. CRC.
