Mrs. Peter Baartman, nee Ida Vander Berg passed away at the Sioux Center hospital on Thursday evening July 1, 1954 at the age of 44 years. She had been ill for several months with cancer.

She was born Sept. 22, 1909 at Sioux Center and spent her entire life in this community. On Nov. 18, 1930 she was united in marriage to Peter Baartman who now survives with the two children, Earl and Carol.

She is further surviced by the following brothers and sisters, John, Douwe and Dick Vander Berg of Sioux Center, Dr. Ed of Holland, Mich., Tena, Etta (Mrs. Fred Aue) both of Sioux Center, Elsie (Mrs. Dan Dykstra) of Trotsky, Minn., and Bessie (Mrs. John Gritters) also of Sioux Center.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Vander Ploeg funeral home and at the Central Reformed church with Rev. Marion Klaaren officiating. Burial took place at the community cemetery and six nephews were pallbearers. They were Dr. James Vander Berg, Dr. Elmer Vander Berg, Arian Korver, Dave Vander Berg and John Gritters.

Here from a distance to attend the services were the Dan Dykstra family of Trosky, Minn., Dr. And Mrs. Ed Vander Berg of Holland, Mich., Mr. and Mrs. Pluim Baartman and Mr. and Mrs. Marion Baartman of Ruthton, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Gorter of Tyler, Minn., and Mrs. Jim Blom of Pipestone, Minn.
