Elsie Marie Reid, wife of John Reid, 606 G Avenue NW, a Cedar Rapids resident 24 years, died Friday following a brief illness.

Born Jan. 8 1892, in Dodge County Minn., she was married January 23, 1953, in Cedar Rapids. Mrs Reid was a member of the Lutheran Church and the Eagles club.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Milfred Thurman of Momence Ill.; a daughter Mildred Emminger of Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, three sisters, Emma Kimball of Galesbury, Ill., Clara Billie of Northfield, Minn.,and Minnie Nelson of Lake Bronson, Minn.; three brothers, Otto Kautz of Oronoco, Minn., Arthur Kautz of Hammond, Minn.,and Alfred Kautz of Whitlock, Tenn.; two stepsons, Myron Reid of Madison, Wis. and Brunell Reid of Marion and four step-grandchildren.

Memorial services: Turner chapel east at noon Monday by the Rev. Gregory Hibbard of the First Lutheran Church. The body will be taken to Ruge funeral home at Momence Ill., for further services and burial. Friends may call at Turner east until 11:30 a.m. Monday. The casket will not be opened after the service.
