Mrs. Amelia Kautz, 86 years old, died Sunday in Hallock Minn. at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Alton Nelson, with whom she had made her home the last seven months.
Formerly Amelia Braun, she was born January 8, 1859, in Germany where she was married to Helmuth Kautz in 1881, the family came to the United States and resided near Kasson and moved to Elgin from Rose Creek 15 years ago. Mr. Kautz died 10 years ago.
Surviving sons and daughters, in addition to Mrs. Nelson, are Paul Kautz, West Concord; Otto, Pine Island; Alfred, Whitlock, Tenn; Fred, Minneapolis; Arthur, Zumbro Falls; Mrs. Helen Hoefs, Cleveland Ohio; Mrs. Elsie Thurman, Rock Island, Ill; Mrs. Emma Mitchell, Los Angeles, and Mrs, Clara White, Northfield. Forty-five grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at the Trinity Lutheran church here by Rev. C.A. Affeldt and burial will be in the Dodge Center cemetery. The body will be at the Rochester funeral home until the services.
The following relatives attended the funeral of Mrs. Amelia Kautz at Elgin Friday, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kautz, Mr. and Mrs. Armond Kautz of West Concord, Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Whiting and family of Dodge Center, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Kautz and sons of Pine Island, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kautz of Minneapolis, Mrs.Clara White of Northfield, Mrs. Viola Ray and son of Stillwater, Mrs. Emma Mitchell and Mrs. Kenneth Dueth of Los Angeles, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Alton Nelson, Miss Dorothy Kautz of Hallock: Minn. Mr. and Mrs. Elery Thurman of Rock Island Ill. Mrs, Alfred Kautz of Whitlock, Tenn., Mr. and Mrs. Murray Kautz and son of Millville. All were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Kautz at Hammond Saturday.
