Howard E. Buntin married Hazel Dean Kennedy on 24 Feb 1939 in Kirksville, Adair, Missouri.

May 6, 1966 Gazette Herald, Kahoka, Missouri - Howard E. Buntin, 79, of Kahoka, died at 4:35 a.m. Friday, April 29 in Graham hospital, where he has been a patient since April 8.
Born Oct. 18, 1886 in Carroll county, Mo., he was the son of Byers and Martha Ellen Piper Buntin.
He was a Pentecostal Gospel minister and also worked as a plumber for N. C. Jinkens.
He married to Stella Minnis on Sept. 11, 1912, and she preceded him in death on Sept. 6, 1935. Later on Feb. 24, 1939, he married Hazel Shaffer and she survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Minnis Buntin, Oceanside, Cal., Virgil Buntin, Ludlow, Mo., and Wm. Buntin, Wayland; two daughters, Mrs. Russell Howe, Reno, Nev. and Mrs. Dale McElroy, Eugene, Ore.; 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Ed of Montana and Roy and Otis of Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death in addition to his first wife by four brothers and one sister.
Funeral service was held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the Karle-Shaffer Funeral Home with the Rev. John Varner of Keokuk and the Rev. Gerald Kruse of Kahoka officiating.
Pallbearers were N. C. Jinkens, John Davidson, Hilburn Gibson, Dane Shaver, Ray Dunn and Robert Watson.
Burial was in the Kahoka Cemetery.
