Mrs. Hazel Dean Buntin, 84, of Kahoka, Missouri, passes away at the Keokuk Area Hospital, Keokuk, Iowa, on Wednesday, February 10, 1988.
The daughter of John and Florence Bowen Shaffer, she was born in Ashton, Missouri on March 16, 1903.
She was united in marriage to Rev. Howard Buntin at Kirksville, Missouri onh February 24, 1939 and he preceded her in death on April 29, 1966.
She is survived by two sons : Minnis Buntin of Dawn, Missouri, William Buntin of Kahoka, and one daughter Mrs. Clastine Buntin Jacobs of Chillicothe, Missouri. One sister survives, Mrs. Irma Lyttaker of Canton, Missouri, several grandchildren including Bill L. Buntin of St. Louis, Missouri and Danny Buntin of Kahoka, Danny Joe Bowen of Kahoka, several great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son Virgil, one daughter, Norma Jean Elroy, and three brothers, Lester, Ernest, and Wave.
She was member of the Kahoka Pentecostal Church of God.
Funeral services were held on Friday, February 12, 1988 at 10:30 a.m. at Shaffer and Sons Memorial Chapel with Rev. Howard Holman officiating. Burial is in the Kahoka Cemetary, Kahoka, Missouri.
Pallbearers were Gerald Sawyer, Bill Ramsey, Kenny Justice, Danny Buntin, John Roberts, and Kevin Palmer. Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.
