☆~ VETERAN, WORLD WAR I (1914-1918) ~☆

Carmon Russell Buntin, age 40 years, a resident of the Coloma community, passed away at the South Side hospital in Carrollton on Monday, January 27, 1941, at 5:30 p.m., following an illness of the past week from appendicitis.

His parents, Byers Howard and Martha E. Buntin, were former citizens of Bogard, where the subject of this short sketch was born on June 13, 1900., in Bogard. After completing his education, he became engaged in farming, an enterprise he continued with great success.

On April 9, 1922, he was united in marriage with Miss Emy Gladys Stanley of Bogard. To this union six children were born, all of whom, Leland, Clifford, Dorothy, Darrell, Darline and Carmon Dale, together with the widow survive.

He is also survived by Ms. Martha E. Buntin of Blackwell, Okla., and eight brothers; W.A. Buntin, Wichita, Kans.; L.O. Buntin, Jennings, Okla.; Arville Buntin, Mountain View, Ark.; H.E. Buntin, Kahoka, Mo.; E.R. Buntin, Missoula, Mont.; R. F. Buntin, Wichita, Kans., and M.H. Buntin, Blackwell, Okla. One sister Mrs. Lula Gentry, and one brother, Albert Buntin, are deceased.

While a resident of Glencoe, Okla., he was converted and united with the Assembly of God. Following his conversion he engaged in the ministry, and while serving in this capacity he organized the Assembly of God church at Skedee, Okla., which congregation continues to hold regular services.

He was a registrant during World War I and was called into service only a short time before the armistice was signed.
