Thomas Jefferson Edlen, son of William and Margaret Edlen, was born Nov. 8th, 1862, north of Kahoka, Mo. and departed this life May 8th, about 8:30 a.m. at the age of 76 years, 6 months, and 1 day. In early manhood he united with the Baptist church in Chambersburg. He leaves to mourn his passing two sisters, Mrs. Nettie Owen of Herman, Ill., and Mrs. Nora Sherwood and one brother Martin Edlen of Kahoka, a number of nieces and nephews and other relatives. Funeral services were held in the Gutting Funeral Home, Wednesday at 9 a.m. May 10, 1939, conducted by Rev. Myrtle Dawson, Christian Minister. Burial in the Ashton cemetery.
