After a serious illness of several days, Mrs. T. R. Adams passed away at the family home in Mabank last Friday morning. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Frank Johnston, pastor of the Van Alstyne Baptist church, assisted by Rev. W. N. Oliver, pastor of the Mabank Methodist church. Interment was at the Mabank cemetery under the direction of Henry Eubank. The active pallbearers were: Russom Mallory, L. H. Treadwell, Ed L. Selman, L. L. Dehis, J. W. Bush and W. M. Covey. Mrs. Adams was before her marriage, Miss Mary Frances Edlen. She was born in the state of Missouri, (in Clark County) on January 22, 1855 and at the time of her death was aged 78 years and 5 days. At the age of nineteen she professed religion and united with the Baptist denomination, of which church she has been a faithful member since. On February 18, 1882 she was married to T. R. Adams. To this union eight children were born. Mrs. R. C. Lindsey and Mrs. George Watts were the two daughters, and W. T. Adams of Paris, Alonzo Adams, of St. Joseph, Mo., A. G. Adams of Revere, Mo., J. L. Adams of Mabank, H. M. Adams of Colemanneal and R. L. Adams of Palestine are the sons. All of the children with their father survive her and all were present for the funeral except one son. The family moved to Mabank from Mssouri in 1904 and have made their home here since. Mrs. Adams was a good Christian woman, a faithful wife and devoted mother. To the bereaved the Banner joins with other friends in sympathy and condolence.
