Mrs Nora Ellen Sherwood, 87, of Kahoka, died at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec 17, in the Walker Rest Home, following an illness of several months. Daughter of Wm G and Margaret Dunn Edlen, she was born April 10, 1875, in Clark county. She had lived her entire life in the county. On May 31, 1894, she married Oscar Sherwood, who preceded her in death in 1949. She was also preceded by one son. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs Margaret E Marlette, Fort Madison, Iowa; one daughter-in-law with whom she made her home, Opal Sherwood; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. The funeral service was held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Gutting Funeral chapel, with the Rev David B..tine officiating. Pallbearers were Mora Edlen, Harve Edlen, Ara Edlen, Wm Edlen, Dale Edlen and Pete Owens. Soloist was Creva Gutting and organist was Margaret Davis. Burial was in the Kahoka cemetery.
