Joseph was the 1st born of 13 children.

Joseph S. Howard.77-year-old retired Choctaw farmer of 1456 SE Park Ave. died Wednesday afternoon in a local rest home.He was stricken last week.

A native of Tennessee,Howard came here in 1920 from Texas,where he was a school teacher. He retired from his farm at Choctaw five years ago.
He belonged to the Methodist Church.
Survivors are his wife ,Millie of the home;a daughter, Mrs.Willetta Banks ,a son, Overton Howard; four brothers, Perry Howard Forsan,Texas; G.G. Howard of Austin,Texas; Hugh Howard of Lubbock,Texas; and A.A. Howard living in Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Stella Guy, Abilene,Texas; Mrs. Hattie Harris, of Bothell, Washington, and Mrs. Alice Miller of Verden and three grandchildren.
Hahn-Cook funeral home will announce arrangements.
