Sarah Abigayle Howard was born in Overton County, Tennessee, Oct 14, 1886, and passed away at her home near Spanish Fort Feb 9, 1949 at the age of 62 years 3 months and 25 days.
She came with her parents to Bonita in 1896. In her early life she united with the Methodist Church and was very active in church work and music. For several years she was a teacher of music.
The deceased was united in marriage to Eustis S Howard Dec. 10,1911. They made their home near Spanish Fort where they were living at the time of her death.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Spanish Fort, Friday Feb 11, at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Alton Vaughn and Rev. A.C. Mowery officiating. Interment was made in the Liberty Chapel Cemetery arranged by Scott Bros.
Pallbearers were;Tom Uselton, Clyde Howard, Pete Uselton, James Haralson, Otis Howard, Phil Howard, Orville Reynolds, Charlie Howard, Oral Jackson and Doug Uselton.
Survivors besides her husband are two daughters, Mrs. Harley Dyer and Mrs. Winfred Crow of Nocona; 1 son , Noble Howard of Dimmitt, Texas; five brothers, P.P. Howard, Big Springs,Texas, G.G. Howard, Austin, A.A. Howard, Silverton, Texas, Q.S. Howard, Lubbock, Bass Howard, Oklahoma City, Okla.; 4 sisters, Mrs. Alice Miller, Verden, Okla, Mrs. Ivan S. Harris, Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Carl Foster and Mrs. Hiram Guy, of Abilene, Texas; 3 grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
