Q S Howard Dies

Q.S. Howard, retired stucco and plaster contractor and a Lubbock resident since 1923, died at his 1916 8th St. residence shortly after 8 a.m. today.
He was 76.
Funeral services are pending at McDonald Funeral Home.
Howard moved to Lubbock from a farm near Ralls in 1923. He came to the South Plains in 1914 from Montague County, and lived in Petersburg before moving to Ralls.
Howard was born in Tennessee in 1882. He was a member of the Methodist Church. He retired in 1949 after suffering a heart attack and had not been active since that time.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lela Howard; a daughter, Mrs. D.D. Chapman, 3018 31st St.; two brothers, G.G. Howard, Austin, and P.P. Howard, Forsan; three sisters, Mrs. Hiram Guy, Abilene, Mrs. Ivan Harris, Seattle Wash., and Mrs. Alice Miller, Verden, Okla., and three grandchildren.
