William H. Shrader, 78, of 130 Brickyard Road, New Oxford, died Tuesday, Aug 27, at the Hanover General Hospital.
He was the husband of Dorothy A. Bevenour Shrader.
Mr. Shrader and his wife celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, June 28, 1991.
Born July 10, 1913, he was the son of the late Charles A. and Corrine B. Carbaugh Shrader.
Mr. Shrader was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army.
He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Oxford, the New Oxford Fire Company, Pennsylvania Fire Police Association, New Oxford Social and Athletic Club, American Legion No. 0202 of Gettysburg and the AARP.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, Ronald J. Shrader of Abbottstown, Thomas J. Shrader of New Oxford and Timothy A. Shrader of Hanover; two daughters, Joyce M. Hull of Hanover and Linda K. Martin at home; five sisters, Emma Livingston, Marie Leister, Lillian Miller and Corrine Smith all of New Oxford and Dorothy Kress of Hanover and six brothers, Francis Shrader of Fayetteville, Robert Shrader, Earl Shrader, Edward Shrader, George Shrader and Joseph Shrader all of New Oxford, nine grandchildren and one great grandson.
Funeral services will be Friday meeting at the Feiser Funeral home, New Oxford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. with Monisgnor Lawrence Overbaugh as Celebrant. Interment in the church cemetery.
