George J. Shrader, 61, of 437, 700 Rd, New Oxford, died Friday, Jan. 12. at his home.
Born in New Oxford, he was the son of the late Charles A. and Corrine (Carbaugh) Shrader. He was married to Irene C (Bailey) Shrader.
Shrader was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, New Oxford. He was employed by Doubleday Inc. for 18 years. He had previously been employed by B C Schuchart Inc for 21 years.
He was a member of New Oxford Social and Athletic Club, McSherrystown Fish and Game Association, AARP, Lost Buck Hunting Camp in Caledonia and was a social member of New Oxford Fire Co. Shrader also served with the U S Marines.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Bruce E. Shrader and Randall T. Shrader, both of New Oxford, three daughters, Deborah A. Bell, New Oxford, Teresa A. Helwig, Dover and Cathy B. Shrader, Hanover, five sisters, Emma Livingston, Marie Leister and Lillian Miller, all of New Oxford, Corriaine smith, Irishtown and Dorothy Kress, Littlestown, five brothers, Francis Shrader, Fannetsburg, Robert Shrader, Earl Shrader, Edward Shrader and Joseph Shrader, all of New Oxford.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, Jan. 16, at 10 a.m. from Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, New Oxford, with his pastor, Msgr Francis H Hudak, as celebrant. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
