She was born August 20, 1917, in Ripley County, Missouri, the daughter of William Melton and Minnie (Hurt) West. She was reared and educated in Buffalo Creek (Brier), Missouri.
She married George Lester Davis on October 28, 1935, in Greenville, Missouri.
Mildred was a home maker and worked for Admiral in Galesburg for 10 years. She enjoyed sewing, quilt making and flowers.
Survivors include her husband, G.Lester Davis of Alexis; three daughters, Kathryn Davis-Peretti of Alexis, Barbara (Larry) Trial of Columbus, Indiana, and Ruth Shafer of Saltillo, Mississippi; grandchildren, Kenneth, Larry, Robert, Lorie, Brian, Lisa, Philip, Paul, Michael, and Sean; 19 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Irene Wells of Galesburg; two brothers, George (Roberta) West of Abingdon and Edward (Betty) West, also of Abingdon; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Homer Lester Davis and Philip Melton Davis, three sisters, and five brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Alexis, with Rev. Marti Jones of the Alexis United Presbyterian Church officiating.
Burial will be in the Alexis Cemetery.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Memorials may be left to the Warren County Cancer Society.
