Chester was born June 4, 1927, in Brier Creek, MO. The son of William Melton & Minnie Hurt West.


Chester married Donna Jean DePaugh on Dec. 11, 1949. They later divorced.


Chester is survived by 4 children, Janice, Chester Harold, David, and Bonnie. Also surviving are 2 sisters, Mildred and Irene, and 5 brothers, James, Edward, George, Charles, and Gene.


Chester was preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter Susan Jean. One brother and 3 sisters.

Chester served in the Army during WWII. He worked several years at the Admiral Corporation before becoming disabled.


Funeral services were at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel in Galesburg, IL.


Burial was in Abingdon Cemetery, He was buried next to his daughter.
