Charles E. west, 68, Omaha, Neb., formerly of Abingdon, Illinois died at his home.

He was born March 4, 1929, in Briar, Missouri, the son of William and Minnie Hurt West.

He married Marilyn Bergmeyer Phillips on June 6, 1953. She died on July 28, 1984.

Surviving is two sons, Charlie West, Omaha, and Lee West, Burlington, Iowa; three daughters, Joslyn and Tracy, both of Omaha and Audrey, in South Carolina; two sisters, two brothers, and many grandchildren.

He lived in Abingdon, ILL., where he worked at the Brass Factory before moving to Omaha.

He was a member of the Greater Omaha Horseshoe League, and the Midwest Historical Detectors Club.

Graveside service will be on June 2 in the Hillcrest Memorial Park, Omaha.
