He married Marilyn Bergmeyer Phillips on June 6, 1953. She died on July 28, 1984.
Surviving is two sons, Charlie West, Omaha, and Lee West, Burlington, Iowa; three daughters, Joslyn and Tracy, both of Omaha and Audrey, in South Carolina; two sisters, two brothers, and many grandchildren.
He lived in Abingdon, ILL., where he worked at the Brass Factory before moving to Omaha.
He was a member of the Greater Omaha Horseshoe League, and the Midwest Historical Detectors Club.
Graveside service will be on June 2 in the Hillcrest Memorial Park, Omaha.
