Little Falls-Mrs. Edna E. Leon 76 of RD3, Little Falls died Tuesday in Little Falls hospital.
She was born in Northwood, N. Y. March 13 1907 the daughter of the late William and Charlotte Wandover Briggs and was educated in schools there.
She was married to Charles H Leon Sr., took place on January 29 1924 in St Mary's Parish House Mr. Leon died December 26, 1962.
For most of her life, Mrs. Leon had been employed as an inspector for the Little Falls Felt Shoe Company retiring in 1972.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Edna Barnery of Fort Plain, Mrs. Frederick (Shirley) Ashley, Little Falls; Mrs. Vaughn (Patricia) Tennant, Herkimer; nine sons, Charles H. Leon, Jr of Ilion; Harold F. Leon, of Ilion; Leo R Leon, Dayton, B. Leon, Gordon E. Leon and Richard L. Leon all of Little Falls; Dennis W. Leon of Copperas Cove, Texas; Thomas G. Leon of Lawton, Okla. and Terry G. Leon of Texas; three brothers, George Briggs, Peter Briggs, Arthur Allen, all of Remsen; Three sisters, Mrs. Katherine Rundell, Dayton, Ohio; Mr. Gerald (Edith) Bronson, Ilion; Mrs. Freda Waite, Florida; 53 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a. m. Saturday the Sheehan Funeral Home with Sister Linda Gaige, Associate Pastor of St. Mary's Church officiating. Interment will be in the family plot in St Mary's Cemetery, town of Herkimer. Calling hours are 7 to 9 p. m. Thursday Friday at the funeral home.
A prayer service will be conducted Friday evening by Sister Linda officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart Fund or MOVAC
