LITTLE FALLS, Richard L. Leon, 69, of 50 Glen Ave., Little Falls, passed away Sunday, December 21, 2003, at the Residential Healthcare Facility of Little Falls Hospital.

He was born on January 2, 1934, in the town of Salisbury, the son of the late Charles and Edna (Johnson) Leon. He was educated in Little Falls schools. He was united in marriage to the former Joan M. Moshier on September 27, 1958, in Inghams Mills by the Rev. William Gilpin.

Mr. Leon was a veteran of the U.S. Army, entering the service on September 2, 1953. He was honorably discharged on March 31, 1961. He was a member of the Holy Family Parish of Little Falls.

Mr. Leon was employed at onetime by the former H.P. Snyder Mfg. Co., Little Falls, and by the Iroquois Service Area of the New York State Thruway. He was last employed for 20 years by the former Little Falls Color Print Co., retiring in 1996.

He is survived by his wife, Joan; two daughters, Bonnie Klock and her husband, William, and Carol Leon, both Little Falls; a step-daughter, Kim Cheney and her husband, Gerard, of Oppenheim; seven brothers, Charles Leon and his wife, Eleanor, Leo Leon, and Dayton Leon and his wife, Florence, all of Little Falls, Gordon Leon and his wife, Frances, of Herkimer, Dennis Leon and his wife, Gerda, of Texas, Thomas Leon and his wife, Sarah, of Oklahoma and Terry Leon and his wife, Chieko, of Kentucky; two sisters, Shirley Ashley and her husband, Fred, and Patricia Tennant and her husband, Vaughn, both of Little Falls; three grandchildren, Christina Allen Koons, Jason Allen and Sonja Klock; a great-grandson, Zachary Koons; three sisters-in-law, Carol Carter and her husband, Clifford, Joyce Laventure and Barbara Murray, all of Little Falls; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a sister, Edna Mae Barney, and a brother, Harold Leon.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 23, at 2 p.m. from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann St., Little Falls, with the Rev. Thomas Vail officiating. Interment will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery, town of Herkimer, at the convenience of the family.
