From "The Minteers As I Have Known Them" by Josephine Minteer Dickinson (1961 limited-edition private printing of 200 copies), youngest and last surviving of William Minteer and Mary Nicholson's 85 grandchildren:

"Married Charles Balsinger, May 17, 1898. Winona is a member of the Eastern Star Lodge 61 of Bradford, Pa. Mr. Balsinger died in 1931. At the time of his death he was General Manager of the South Penn Oil Company located in Bradford, Pa. He was a member of the board of directors of the Pa. Grade Crude Oil Conservation Board, a member of the board of directors of the Bradford Transit Co., and a member of the Bradford Board of Commerce. He was a Mason. Winona and Charles Balsinger had five children: Paul Minteer, Harold Edward, James Charles, Winifred and Margaret Lucille."
--------------------
In 1880 she lived with her parents and seven brothers and sisters in Millerstown (now Chicora), PA. Her father and brother William were laborers.

In 1900 she lived with her husband and their son in a house in Karns City, PA that they owned, mortgage free. Charles was a foreman for the South Penn Oil Company.

In 1910 she lived with her husband and four children in a house on the Murtland school house to Magic Road in Concord Township, Butler County, PA. (Magic was a new name--which apparently didn't stick--for the old oil town and post office of Troutman, which does still appear on Google Maps. There is also a Murtland Road nearby.) They owned their home, mortgage free. Charles was a superintendent for an oil company.

In 1920 she and Charles and their five children lived in a house at 1049 West First Street in Oil City, PA, which they owned, with a mortgage. Charles was a superintendent for an oil company and Paul was a clerk in an office.

In 1930 she, Charles, Paul, Winifred, Margaret, and her sister Euphemia lived in a house in Foster Township, McKean County, PA. They owned the home, which was valued at $15,000, and had a radio. Charles was the general superintendent for South Penn Oil Company and Paul was a clerk for an oil company.

In 1940 she, daughter Winifred, daughter Margaret Kahle, and granddaughter Joan Kahle lived in possibly the same house, on Route 346 in Foster Township. They owned it, but it was only valued at $6000. So its value was either very hard-hit by the Depression, or else they had moved.

In 1950 the four of them, plus Winifred's husband Robert and their daughter lived there. Robert worked as a surveyor in the oil business. Joan was shown as the owner of a retail art shop--but she was only 18 years old, so it must be wondered if it was really her mother who owned the shop.
